A PANEL detailing the history of the Vale Royal Abbey site before it became a golf club was unveiled by Vale Royal Mayor Clr Norman Wright yesterday, Tuesday.
The panel is located beside Vale Royal Abbey Drive and includes illustrations of the abbey church and the great house.
It also tells of the many colourful people associated with the abbey site including Lady Mary Cholmondeley, Hugh Cholmondeley, the third Baron of Delamere and King Edward I.
Clr Mark Stocks, Vale Royal Borough Council's lead councillor for the environment, said: "I am pleased the golf club has allowed the panel to be installed on its land in this prominent location."
