MIDDLEWICH Town lost ground on Mid Cheshire Division One leader Crosfields thanks to a 3-2 home defeat against Knutsford.
Town are now in third place in the league, one point behind Crosfields in first and Linotype Cheadle in second.
Meanwhile Knutsford have crept into fourth place and are just two points behind Town.
Middlewich have a week away from league action to gather their thoughts as they entertain Bollington on Saturday in the first round of the Cheshire FA Cup.
l MIDDLEWICH Reserves continue to struggle in the Mid Cheshire Reserves Division, a league they have won for the past two seasons.
The Reserves, who are just one point off the bottom of the table, have only won once all season and lost again on Saturday, this time going down 2-1 away at Rylands.
