OVER PEOVER 2nd XI 203 for 4 declared
Wilmslow 2nd XI 76
OVER Peover 2nd XI were declared champions of Division B of the Meller Braggins League on Saturday.
They rounded off an outstanding season with a comfortable away win over a young Wilmslow side to secure promotion to the elite Division A.
Batting first, Peover had set a stiff target.
An undefeated 104 by Kirby Whittaker - including four sixes and 14 fours - and 38 not out from Gavin Kay enabled skipper Daniel Edwards to declare at 203 for 4 after 35 overs.
Facing an uphill task, the Wilmslow batsmen made slow progress against the Peover attack.
Bowling unchanged, Daniel Tucker and Chris Naylor took 5 for 47 and 5 for 25 respectively, the innings closing on 76 all out in the 30th over.
Phil Green top-scored with 21.
The full playing record reads: Won 14, lost 3, drawn 2, with four games abandoned.
In addition, they won through four rounds of the Knock-Out Cup and finished as runners-up
