ALBERT Park took an early lead after Richie O'Neill was held up close. Gaz Rolt found Mick Randall who stormed over for a try. Sean McWhirter added the extras.
Haydock came back into the game and moved the ball out wide for their prop to twist out of the tackle to go in for a try. A 50-yard break by Mick Randall was backed up by Mark Higgins, who took a slipped pass to go over for a try.
Haydock went over for a short-range try. The conversion brought the scores level.
Half time score was 10-10.
Within a couple of minutes of the restart Haydock scored a try when they kept the ball alive before it reached their winger who went over in the corner.
A fine touchline conversion gave them a 16-10 lead.
Albert finished the game where they had been for most of the half, on their opponent's line.
The Handyman's Van man of the match went to Mick Randall who was pushed close by Sean McWhirter and Mark Higgins.
Albert Park take a break from league action this week and take on Widnes Ball Bulldogs in the second round of the Lancashire cup.
