WORKERS at Morrisons distribution depot have voted to walk out as uncertainty grows surrounding job cuts.
Around 700 workers at the Woolston depot could lose their jobs according to union bosses.
The GMB says Morrisions has been deliberately winding down operations at the Holcroft Grange depot with the plan to shut it.
And members have now voted strongly in favour of staging a strike.
A strike at distribution centres up and down the country could cause chaos at Morrisons stores.
The company has so far refused to confirm or deny which of the depots is likely to be under the most threat but says it is considering cuts.
The supermarket giant has also closed a number of stores since it took over rivals Safeway 18 months ago.
