A WIDNES artist has won an art competition at The Brindley.
Colin Turner received a £50 cheque from the Deputy Mayor of Halton, Cllr John Swain, after his painting 'Lucy in Pensive Mood' came out on top in the Visitors Choice category in the 'Open' competition.
Visitors to the gallery at The Brindley got to vote for their favourite piece of art in the recent competition, which was designed to give people a platform for their artwork.
Other Widnes winners included Elizabeth Oliver for her small photographic images entitled 'Perfect Imperfections' and Tom McCann, who won second prize with 'Synaptic Breakdown', while Catherine Ball, from Runcorn, received £50 in arts materials vouchers for her sculpture, 'Smoked Clay Figure'.
Another Open exhibition is already being planned for next year.
