LOCAL ladies crossed the finish line in triumph when they took part in a sponsored run to raise money for McMillan Cancer Relief.
Mother and daughter team Karen and Kirsten Dennis joined their friend Yvonne Crane to raise over £400 with Team McMillan on the Hydro Active women's challenge 5km run in Sefton Park, Liverpool.
Karen said: "The day was amazing and the atmosphere was great - the crowds made it easier and running with another 2,500 women kept us motivated."
The Nantwich trio were delighted to finish in under 40 minutes.
Daughter Kirsten, aged 16, an ex-Brine Leas pupil, had the idea to take part, which inspired her mum and friend.
Karen added: "I was very proud of her wanting to do something good for charity.
"We thought 'why not?'. Everyone knows someone affected by cancer and we wanted to raise some money to help."
Last year the team raised £135,000 at the event and hope the total will be beaten this year.
