THE British Deaf Association project in Warrington has been awarded £19,000 of lottery cash by the Home Front Recall Scheme.
The association will use the moeny to produce a record of the wartime experiences of deaf people in the north of England.
The contributors will use British Sign Language to communicate their experiences in video diaries that will be edited together to produce extended videos and DVDs as a historical record for future research and the benefit of future generations.
The scheme will seek to emulate a similar project conducted in Derbyshire last year.
