NANTWICH Town will be targeting a trademark FA Cup upset after drawing Conference North side Hucknall Town.

Extending that lucrative FA Cup run looks tough for the Dabbers with their second qualifying round opponents flying high in third spot, just behind non-league stalwarts Northwich Victoria and Stafford Rangers.

Still Nantwich have home advantage and as they say - anything can happen in the cup.

"It's an interesting one," admitted boss Steve Davis.

"They're obviously a good side and they're third in the Conference North.

"You wouldn't get a much tougher tie at this stage but it's another scalp and we'll go out to win the game.

"We should get a decent crowd with their following and it's good for the club.

"Hopefully we'll get a few more local people to turn out too.

"More noise does help a lot."

Nantwich booked their place and £2,250 booty with a comprehensive 3-0 victory at Boldmore St Michaels.

James Marrow (2) and Danny Griggs grabbed the goals to breeze past the Midland Alliance side.

A 20-minute delay and late arrival didn't deter the Dabbers who made a fast start with James Marrow netting Matt Blake's ball.

Blake, Griggs and Adam Beasley all had chances to extend that lead but had to wait until Marrow's bullet header buried a Griggs free-kick on 67 minutes.

The provider wrapped thing up late on thanks to a Mark Grice pass.

"It was reasonably easy for us but we had to play for it," continued Davis.

"We got stuck in traffic so preparation wasn't as good as we'd have liked but credit to the lads, they started well."

The big FA Cup clash is on hold while Nantwich return to the bread and butter of NWC Division One.

Struggling Formby arrive at Jackson Avenue with a solitary point on Saturday, followed by a trip to high-flying Abbey Hey on Tuesday.

"We don't want it to detract from the league," added Davis.

"We've got a big game on Saturday in terms of points and getting to where we feel we should be in the table.

"Abbey Hey have had a good start so that will be tough.

"We're looking for six points and we're capable of it.
