NEWTON Storm under eights rugby league team are raring to go for the new season based at Mesnes Park.
They have had a good off-season and have prepared really well, looking faster, stronger and more skilful than previously.
A couple of new players have joined over the summer and so the team's coaches are expecting another excellent year.
The season gets underway on Sunday in the national Mini and Mod League Festival.
In conjunction with the rest of the mini and mod playing associations in the country, the festival will take place at various venues simultaneously - thus billing it as the largest festival of any sport.
In the north west area, the festival is divided as far as possible into geographical areas to make it a manageable event.
Storm are grouped with Latchford Albion Unicorns and Giants, Rylands Sharks, Crosfields Cobras, Woolston Rovers, Newton Storm, Weaverham, Burtonwood Bulldogs and Culcheth Eagles.
