Oldershaw 37
Warrington 13
WARRINGTON aim to put successive league defeats behind them when they entertain Winnington Park in the first round of rugby union's Intermediate Cup on Saturday.
After an opening day 62-3 loss at Leigh, for the first 10 minutes of Saturday's Euromanx South Lancashire and Cheshire One clash with Oldershaw it seemed odds-on that Warrington's young backs would lay the foundations for a much-needed victory.
They scythed through the Oldershaw defence at will and showed that, with a little more possession, the side has the potential to win more games than they lose this season.
However, the heavier home side eventually started to exploit their strengths up front.
Rockey scored all of Warrington's points, with one try, one conversion and two penalty goals but at the moment Warrington sit at the bottom of the table with a points difference of minus 88.
Their next league game will be away to Vagabonds of the Isle of Man on September 24.

WARRINGTON competed throughout Saturday's clash but failed to take the chances they created.
The scoreline did not represent the game with Warrington achieving nine breaks that should have resulted in tries, but they turned the ball over 14 times in loose play.
There were excellent performances from Williams in the centres and Hughes in the second row, while Hayes was outstanding at full back.
