Started in 1991, WODAC is now established as one of the few facilities for homeless and isolated people during the annual shutdown of other resources.
Knowing that someone sleeping rough has had a decent meal and some company in a warm building, instead of being outside in bad weather is one of the most rewarding aspects of helping at WODAC.
New volunteers are welcome - and the varied jobs available include serving meals, playing board games, or preparing vegetables. To get involved, call the secretary, David Wheeler, on 210212.
Publicity officer, Jane Allen, is available to talk to groups such as WI, Brownies and church committees about WODAC's work. If you are interested, call Jane on 266691.
