Winnington Park 39
Lymm 21
LYMM made a game of it in the second half after trailing 18-0 at the interval at Winnington Park in North Two West.
Mark Berry put left winger Paul Morris over for a try that Lewis Hollington converted, and a kick from Adam Fletcher, who was returning from a 10-month spell Down Under, led to new signing Huw Thorpe touching down to reduce the deficit to just four points.
Unfortunately for Lymm, their comeback gave Winnington Park a wake-up call, and the home side scored three more tries before Chris Kinsey crossed in the last minute for a converted consolation effort.
Lymm travel to Wilmslow in the NPI Cup on Saturday.
