MOTIVATED pupils were one highlight of a working holiday to Kenya for an Old Hall teacher.
Rachel Green and her friend Emma Mackie, of Goose Lane, Hatton, went to the African country with Lasallian Developing World Projects to help build a primary school's new classroom.
While there, different teaching methods and different responses from students were observed.
Ms Green, aged 26, of Frobisher Court, said: "The students were so curious and motivated to learn. They were able to see the bigger picture, which was inspiring and put my life into perspective."
During the three-week trip Lasallian volunteers lived in the nearby secondary school run by the De La Salle Brothers, where street children also lived. In thanks for the new classroom, these children will now be admitted to the primary school.
