THERE were two very special guests on hand to open new disabled facilities at a popular church hall last week.
Rose Walworth, who is partially sighted and a regular user of Orford Church Hall on School Road, was accompanied by her guide dog Angie at the opening of the new facilities.
The overhaul, in accordance with new disability guidelines, features a ramp from the street, a new wider front door, a disabled toilet and an induction loop for hearing aid users.
The work has been funded thanks to generous grants from Warrington Borough Council and Landfill Tax Credit Scheme funding of £4,229 administered by Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (WREN).
Hall committee members oversaw the completion of the work.
Orford Church Hall, part of the Anglican parish of St Margaret's and All Hallows, is a popular venue for community groups.
The hall committee views the new adaptations as an opportunity to widen the hall's use to others.
