A WARRINGTON company director hit all the right notes as he took home top honours at a major regional awards.
David Briggs, of Dawsons Music, was crowned Cheshire Director of the Year at last Thursday's Institute of Directors Director of the Year Awards.
Held in front of 650 guests at the City of Manchester Stadium, the St Andrew's University graduate held off stiff competition to take home the prize.
Mr Briggs has been chairman at the Sankey Street based music giant for the past 26 years and is also chairman of St John's Ambulance in Cheshire and Warrington Youth Club.
He picked up his award from David Chell, head of sales at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Mr Briggs was not the only Warrington name in the running as asset management director, Keith Budinger, who works at the Great Sankey based United Utilities, was also shortlisted.
Laura Wolfe, regional director of the Institute in the north west, said: "The awards aim to showcase directors who are making a difference within their respective industries and highlight best practice from which we can all learn.
"Business is very much alive and doing well in the north west and we aim to prove it yet again next year."
The evening was hosted by BBC broadcaster and Mastermind host John Humphrys who gave a 15 minute speech.
