TWO years after murdered schoolgirl Shafilea Ahmed vanished, the hunt for her killers goes on.
The Great Sankey teenager, of Liverpool Road, disappeared on September 11, 2003 but, since then, no one has been charged over the brutal crime.
The 17-year-old's body was found on the banks of the River Kent, near Kendal, last February.
Her body had been deliberately concealed in undergrowth and was only found by workers following rising waters in Cumbria.
Despite ongoing investigations detectives were unable to provide the Warrington Guardian with new information into the case.
Relatives of the Great Sankey High School pupil have been re-bailed for a fourth time on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Six extended family members of the teenager: a 32-year-old man, a 63-year-old man, two 34-year-old men and a 28-year-old woman, were arrested on September 7 last year and a 55-year-old woman was arrested a month later.
A 45-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman from Warrington were also arrested on the same charge in December 2003.
DI Giles Orton said: "In terms of the investigation we are still pursuing active lines of inquiry and have a team of detectives based in Warrington."
