THE ANCIENT tradition of storytelling is coming back to life at Widnes Library next week.
Writer, poet and stand-up comedian John Hughes, who performs strange tales for all ages, will be recalling fascinating stories from 7pm-9pm on Wednesday, September 21.
He collects stories from all over the world, from the past and present, as well as reciting his own stories and poems.
Some are drawn from ancient mythology, folklore and fairytales, whilst some are simply passed on through word of mouth.
Lively John maintains these threads through anecdotes, jokes and urban myths.
The event is free and refreshments will be provided.
