A DISABLED boy who had his beloved mountain bike stolen has been given a new one thanks to an article in the World.
Shane Graylish, 13, from Quinn Street, Widnes, made an appeal in the World two weeks ago for the return of his new Sarazen Blitz mountain bike, which had been taken from outside his home.
Shane's stepfather Dave said: "The morning the paper came out the postmaster at Appleton Village Post Office rang and said if we didn't get Shane's bike back, he and friends in the building trade would raise the money to buy him a new one.
"Then an ambulance driver called Dave from Wilmslow who works at Warrington Hospital read the World article and rang to say he had just bought himself a new bike so Shane could have his old one if he wanted it.
"Shane was made up when he saw it. It's a top of the range professional mountain bike.
"Shane would like to thank Dave the ambulance driver, the postmaster for his kind gesture and Widnes World for printing the story."
