A MIDDLEWICH man was sentenced for attacking a man outside a Lostock night spot when he appeared at Chester Crown Court yesterday, Tuesday.
Jason George Ernest Lowe, 29, of Chadwick Road, was given a maximum 240-hour community punishment order and ordered to pay £500 compensation to his victim for a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, which he admitted on August 23.
Myles Wilson, prosecuting, said Lowe's victim, Andrew Coombes, was at Lostock Social Club when Lowe and another man, Andrew Fletcher, entered.
He said the victim was in a relationship with Mr Fletcher's daughter, which Mr Fletcher did not approve of, and Lowe was in a relationship with another of his daughters.
Lowe told Mr Coombes he wanted a word with him and the men went outside.
Mr Wilson said: "The defendant turned, head-butted and punched Mr Coombes to the face.
"He fell to the ground where the defendant kicked him to the head on more than one occasion then the defendant and Mr Fletcher left Mr Coombes lying on the ground."
Mr Coombes lost two teeth and suffered cuts and bruising to his mouth.
When interviewed by police, Lowe said he had had seven pints of lager with Mr and Mrs Fletcher before the incident.
Andrew Storrie, defending, said: "This was a disgraceful episode and one which the defendant is not proud of.
"This was an episode informed entirely by the fact that the good judgement of his head was clouded by the emotional temperature of the exchange that took place."
Mr Storrie said Lowe had been involved with using and supplying hard drugs in the past but had put this behind him after serving a prison sentence and was now supporting his family and fianc who suffers from multiple sclerosis.
The Recorder of Chester, Judge Elgan Edwards, said: "You attacked someone in a very vicious manner and caused nasty injuries."
