MIDDLEWICH Fire Cadets have good reason to be proud after completing a meticulous drill routine that saw them pass out with flying colours.

The latest 10 fire cadets to complete the intensive training course at Middlewich Fire Station performed their passing out drill last Tuesday night watched by proud family, friends and town council dignitaries.

Sub officer Paul Winder said: "They did exceptionally well and can be justifiably proud of themselves.

"They had to complete a number of intense drills as well as a written examination which a couple of them passed with 100 per cent."

The youngsters were presented with certificates at the ceremony that took place at the station in Civic Way.

Cadets Catherine Fallows and James Muir were promoted to the position of leading fire cadets while Stephen Taylor was presented with an award for being the cadet of the year.

Sub officer Winder said the recruiting process is already under way at the station and anyone wanting to find out more or add their name to the waiting list can visit the station from 7.30pm each Tuesday.
