HEARTFELT tributes have continued to pour in for Middlewich man Gavin McAleer, who died from a stab wound following a incident in a pub car park.
Visitors to the Guardian's websites have been adding messages of condolence to his family and sharing their memories of the former St Nicholas High School pupil.
Gavin, 27, of Longmoss Close, Middlewich, died after an incident on car park of The Vaults pub, in Wheelock Street, on Thursday, September 1.
Below is a selection of messages posted in memory of Gavin:
Ian Healey said: "Dear Gavin, you will always remain alive in the happiest of my childhood memories."
Emma Buckley said: "Condolences to Mr and Mrs McAleer and Lisa. I have known Gav for a long time. I've moved away from the area and haven't seen him for ages but this has knocked me for six. I still can't believe it. I'm so sorry for you all. What a tragic waste."
James McCabe wrote: "I'm very sorry to hear about what happened. Hopefully you'll rest in peace. You will always be missed."
Former school friend Christina Duffy, from Winsford, said: "I went to St Nicholas High School with Gavin and we were in the same form for five years. Gavin was a popular lad with the boys and the girls. And I remember him with long middle parted hair - like curtains as we call it.
"What a lovely, genuine nice lad and such a tragic waste.
"What is happening to this world? My thoughts are with Gavin's family at this very, very sad time. Rest In Peace Gav."
Trevor Griffiths, a former colleague who lives in Crewe, added: "As someone who worked with Gavin at Brooks Lane Smithy, his death has come as a great shock and with immense sadness.
"I always found Gavin as a happy go lucky person who was loyal and very helpful and someone who enjoyed life to the full. My prayers and thoughts are with Gavin's family. Gavin, rest in peace."
