MORE than 60 volunteers had the chance to put themselves in the position of visually impaired clients at a centre for the blind yesterday, Tuesday.
The RNIB Transcription Centre in High Street, Tarporley, transcribes thousands of items each year for the blind or visually impaired.
This can include material for students, employees and employers.
There is also promotional literature, appliance operating instructions, hobby and leisure publications and items for everyday living.
The volunteers attended a session at Tarporley Community Centre and tried out the access technology equipment used to receive items they helped to transcribe.
Some of the visually impaired clients were on hand to share their experiences.
Speakers also gave talks on how transcription methods will develop in the future.
