A NEW sporting facility for pupils and the wider community was officially opened at the County High School Leftwich on Friday.
Northwich Victoria FC manager Steve Burr and Weaver Vale MP Mike Hall were on hand to help cut the ribbon at the multi-use games area (MUGA), along with a variety of sporty youngsters.
The opening launched plans to involve primary school pupils in more activities at the MUGA and children were invited to the facility for the day to join in with a multisports tournament and experience the facility first hand.
Stacey Mannion, community sports development officer, said: "We're trying to get kids active and want to teach children new skills in different sports so that by the time they are at high school they've already got the basic skills."
