A NORTHWICH teenager admitted trespassing on railway lines when he appeared at Northwich Youth Court last Wednesday.
The 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was fined £25 and ordered to pay court costs of £20 for the offence.
Catherine Whincup, prosecuting, said that the youth was seen with two others walking along the line between Northwich and Lostock Gralam stations on April 12.
The boy, who was not represented, said that he was just following his friends who had stepped on to the tracks first.
Chairman of the bench Jeff Langham asked him if he always did as his friends told him and the boy shook his head.
Mr Langham added that he didn't want to see the youth in court again for such an offence.
