RESIDENTS in Vale Royal are urged to glam up their gumboots for charity this weekend to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.
The annual Memory Walk will be held at Marbury and Anderton Country Parks where a best dressed boots competition will award prizes to the wackiest wellies.
There are at least two walks to choose from including the five-mile explorer trail around both parks and a more leisurely two-mile stroll around Marbury.
Trish Farrar, manager at the borough branch on Manchester Road, Lostock Gralam, said: "We are delighted that many people who have a link with us here through a relative with Alzheimer's have registered to walk."
The walk takes place on Sunday and participants should head for the registration tent in Marbury Park before the official start time at 1.30pm.
For further details and a sponsorship form, call the branch on 01606 351112.
