A WINSFORD secretarial company welcomed some help from above at the official opening of its new head office.

Well-wishers joined staff from Broomhay Secretarial Services (BSS) in a joint celebration of its first year of trading and the unveiling of its Carnoustie Close headquarters but one divine guest outshone the rest.

For the Rev Lesley Eden, of St Mary's Church, Whitegate, joined Winsford Town Mayor Clr Tony Hooton in declaring the new building open for business and even performed a special blessing.

Owner Pauline Hayward said: "I am a committed Christian and a church warden at St Mary's so I was delighted when Lesley agreed to join me and my friends for the celebration.

"It underlined my conviction that businesses can be run in a Christian manner as profits can still be made through honesty, integrity, loyalty and plain hard work - all important tenets of the Christian faith - and the success of my business in its first year proves the point."

Pauline set up BSS after her long-standing secretarial career was cut short when her employer went into voluntary liquidation. She now acts as a secretary to limited companies who value her expertise and knowledge of company law.

She said: "I am totally at ease with the duties, having done the job for many years, however many small companies may find those duties rather onerous and many now come to me for help.

"We also offer one-to-one secretarial training, covering all aspects of office administration from keyboard skills to filing, based on many years' experience in large and small offices."
