A WET day at Knights Grange saw a full day's play thanks to the ground staff who played a game of cat and mouse with the covers and the rain all week to get a track worth playing on.
Once again Alvanley won a crucial toss and inserted Winsford to bat.
Winsford started in measured fashion with openers Phillips and Nicholas seeing off the opening attack in assured fashion before both fell to second string bowlers.
Mike Clarke came in at three and his 72 saw Winsford to 170-9.
The covers went on at tea and after a belated restart play got under way.
Opening bat McKay proved that at least one Australian in this country can bat with an excellent 107no.
The game was over when Farmer added 48no to move Alvanley to 171-1 with the only wicket to fall that of Szyhula.
