FORMER Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon took centre stage for the £1.5m relaunch of Halton Stadium on Sunday, writes James Hanley.
The Liverpool-born singer performed her new single 'Woman In Love' and the former number one 'Whole Again' during half time of the Widnes-Leigh Super League clash.
Speaking before the match, 24-year-old Liz said: "I'm a big rugby league fan. We're divided in our family, half are Widnes fans and half are St Helens.
"I love playing stadiums and rugby crowds are great, they're always up for a laugh".
Pre-match entertainment included a performance by the Royal Marine Commandos and a drum and percussion performance by Halton Youth, to mark the official opening of the recently completed East Stand.
Liz added: "The stadium looks absolutely gorgeous and I'm loving the new East Stand."
The Vikings rounded off their home campaign with a 36-20 win over already-relegated Leigh Centurions in front of a 5,000-strong crowd.
