RUNCORN dominated the opening period, retaining possession of the ball and threatening the West Kirby goal.

West Kirby took the lead against the run of play when Stuart scored with a header from a corner.

In injury time Atherton doubled the home team's advantage.

Changes at half time were immediately stifled when Robinson tripped Atherton and Cotgreave scored from the penalty despite Murphy getting both hands to the ball.

Gary Lunt curled a free kick into the top corner to bring Runcorn back into the game in the 68th minute.

Dean Ramanouski blasted home a Towey cross in the 80th minute.

It was all Runcorn now. Ian Cocks beat two defenders and found the top corner in the 85th minute.

Next week Runcorn Town have an open date due to the marriage of central defender Mark Robinson.

Runcorn Town Reserves travel to Chester for a division two fixture against Upton. Kick off is 2pm.
