TEN school leavers marched into a career in the Army this week.
They all took an oath of allegiance to the Queen at Warrington Masonic Hall, on Winmarleigh Street, to begin their new career.
The next step for the new recruits is to attend the Army Foundation College in Harrogate, Yorkshire where they will have to take a 42-week course to gain the necessary skills.
The course gives them the opportunity for fast track promotion through classes in vocational education and military training.
Staff Sergeant, Andy Waldron, is eager to emphasise the opportunities available to school leavers and new recruits on such courses.
He said: "I have had the time of my life in the Army and benefited hugely from the great opportunities offered."
