ANOTHER accident has hit the A49 and it is again yards from the scene of a fatal crash in December.
A man was knocked off his scooter in a collision on Friday, five days after a woman was airlifted to hospital with neck injuries after she was in collision with a car.
Both accidents were only around 50 yards from where 71-year-old Whitley Man Robert Lewis died when his car was in collision with a HGV travelling in the opposite direction.
His widow Kathleen is fighting for safety measures after now seeing two more people injured at the spot where her husband was killed.
"We just can't let things go on as they are," said Mrs Lewis, from Nook Farm in Marsh Lane, Whitley.
"We have got to try and do something."
The most recent accident involving the man on the scooter was near the junction with Smithy Lane, by the Holly Bush Pub, near Little Leigh.
Pub owner Peter O'Connor had his cottage demolished by the HGV in the accident involving Mr Lewis' car.
He is letting campaigners use his pub for a public meeting for better safety measures.
