A FASCINATING book which delves deep into Golborne's past is set to hit the shops early in June.

'A History of Golborne' is a 128-page paperback, written by the late James Bridge.

The work was first published in a rough typewritten format 20 years ago under the title 'Gleanings of Golborne History'.

Mr. Bridge's book charts the town's history from its earliest reference in the Domesday Book up to the 1950s with an additional section up to 1975 written by his daughter Mary.

A History of Golborne will be on sale at bookshops, Golborne library, The Copy Shop in Heath Street and Asda in Golborne.
