SPEEDY Karen Ellison, of Woodford Lodge High School, was on top form last Saturday for Mid-Cheshire Schools at the county cross-country championships.
Hunting a place in the county team, the Year 10 pupil stayed in the leading pack to stride towards the national championships at Cheltenham in March, where she will represent Cheshire.
Nine pupils from Woodford Lodge ran at the event in Warrington but it was Karen who excelled in the intermediate section, finishing an impressive 14th.
Karen represents the school in many sports and head of Year 10 Bernie Bishop is pleased with her performance inside the classroom as well.
He said: "Her level of attainment and effort in every subject is absolutely brilliant and she has just achieved straight As in her recent report.
"We are expecting outstanding GCSE results from Karen next year."
