Junior Blues u-11s 3
JUNIOR Blues travelled to Moulton with two key players missing and put together a professional performance to win 3-0 and keep their ninth clean sheet of the season.
Blues found it hard to break down a packed defence for the first 20 minutes, coming close to opening the scoring on many occasions only to be thwarted by Moulton's inspired centre-half and goalkeeper.
Eventually the Junior Blues got their reward for the pressure when they took the lead after 20 minutes. The Moulton keeper picked up a back pass and Dean Lomas smashed home the resulting indirect free-kick.
The second half began with Blues rushing to gain further advantage when manager Chris Crangle switched man of the match Ryan Ashall from midfield to centre-forward.
This proved to be a masterstroke as the hard-working Ashall scored twice in 15 minutes to give his side a comfortable lead.
Moulton continued to work hard and came close to opening their account with a superb 20-yard effort from Whitney which was pushed around the post by Blues keeper Paul Alderson.
The under-11s travel to Witton, currently second in the First Division, this Saturday in the quarter-finals of the League Challenge Cup.
