CREWE boss Dario Gradi has been named as Manager of the Month for January after the club's last four impressive performances in Division One.

Dario, who was also awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours List, will receive a specially commissioned magnum of champagne.

He said that for many of the players playing and beating the teams they had met this year had been the best thing ever.

"To be in this league and have the best record for the month is terrific for the players," he said.

"We have had some big games, they all seem big to me, and they are all hard games.

"When we watch the video and we are critical of our own performance and then we watch the opposition in the same was we find we can often be more critical about them than ourselves.

"I think our improvement is because when we are critical about ourselves we then try and do something about it."

Jamie Moralee will be travelling to Oldham to train there for one day this week with the possibility of a loan or move.

Gareth Whalley is fit for Saturday and Shaun Smith could be in the line up. Ashley Westwood is doubtful and Phil Charnock is likely to be out for a few more games.
