ALSAGER Company of Archers had mixed fortunes during their third set of matches last month.

The Recurve Bow 'A'team beat City of Leicester Archery Team in Division Four by a healthy margin of 68 points to give them the best team score so far this season.

Alsager ended the match on 2842 compared to Leicester's 2774 and the team's hopes of winning the division are still alive, as long as they win the remaining matches over the next two months.

In the Compound Bow 'B' team's match against Portsdown Archery Club, Alsager scored 1087 to hold off the opposition and keep hopes alive for the end of the season.

In the 'B' team's Division 27 match a score of 2628 was not enough to beat Boston's Pilgrim Ploughman's 'B' team' 2694.

And Coventry Archery Club's score of 1136 beat the Compound Bow 'A' team's 1098 in Division Four leaving the team with three losses and looking unlikely to win the division.
