SALFORD UNIVERSITY - 1 ALSAGER - 4

TEEN star Sam Lyndhurst helped Alsager's hockey men move up to fifth place this week, just two points away from a promotion spot, after victory at Salford.

To start, Alsager went behind to a fifth minute strike from a penalty corner but applied the pressure and were rewarded after 23 minutes.

Seventeen-year-old Sam fired in his first ever goal for the club from the edge of the shooting area.

The second half was dominated by Alsager who took the lead through Richard Cooper on 53 minutes and then increase a minute later by Neil Brown.

The team wrapped up the game five minutes from time when Simon Hudson turned Cooper's right wing cross into the net.

This Saturday Alsager travel to top of the table Liverpool University.
