WARRINGTON photographer Damian McGillicuddy has won top awards in the Master Photographer of the Year contest for the fifth year running.

The awards were organised by the north west region of the Master Photographers' Association.

Damian took first place in portrait, fashion and wedding categories and also collected a host of other awards, bringing his tally at the end of the ceremony to 11 awards, including merits.

This brings Damian's total number of awards to 49, in regional, national and international contests.

Damian lives in Cinnamon Brow and has a studio in Widnes.

He said: "I am delighted with the results, especially when you consider that my winning images are commissioned portraits and not specifically shot competition pieces."

Damian, who is married with one son, said that the support given to him by his family contributed to his success.
