CALLOUS vandals have smashed the windows of a charity shop in the centre of Warrington. The Help The Aged shop on Sankey Street had its main window put through in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Emergency glazers boarded up the premises, however it was the shop's window display that helped keep the window intact.

Manager Suzanne Ball, said: "We were quite lucky really, as the acetate used in the window display managed to keep most of it together."

No stock was taken when the window was smashed, and it has now been replaced.
