BUSINESS is booming for two Warrington musicians, but it's unlikely that you'll see them strutting their stuff on Top Of The Pops.

Paul Gallagher and Duncan Lomax enjoyed a flirtation with fame after their band HAL recorded with X-Files star Gillian Anderson.

The single Extremis reached 23 in the charts, but the modest pair from Penketh would rather avoid, than hog, the limelight.

Paul said: "We had our 15 minutes of fame, which was really good but it's not us. Driving round in limousines and drinking champagne is fine, but we'd much rather stay in the background."

"We're definitely pipe and slippers men," said Duncan.

From their own studio in Penketh the dynamic duo have been busy working on new music for TV and film.

"We have just been working on a couple of new British films that are due out later this year, providing music for the soundtrack," said Paul.

"One's called Get Real, which is a sort of Gregory's Girl for the nineties, and the others a sci-fi called Alien Blood," he said.

The BBC have also been keen to re-commission their work following on from the theme tune of Future Fantastic which they recorded last year.

Duncan added: "We are also doing more work for the Tomorrow's World team at the BBC, one which will be really big called The Planets."

Paul added: "We don't have to move anywhere because of the technology that's around. Being in Warrington's just fine because we can send all our music all over the world via the internet."
