THE Tranny won a scrappy league encounter against a hard working St Andrews side.

The decisive moment came halfway through the first-half when Mike Wheelhouse picked up a through ball and neatly sidestepped the full-back to score into the roof of the net.

Although the Tranny were on top for most of the first-half it took a great save from goalkeeper David Collins to preserve the Tranny lead at half-time.

The second-half was just as scrappy as the first but more of an even contest with neither side actually creating many goal-mouth chances.

Both defences looked comfortable throughout the game as was reflected by the mom decision going to Tranny full-back and captain Ray Daley.

Fidds 9

Dray Athletic 0

AFTER last week's disappointing cup draw, Fidds got back to winning ways in the league which keeps the pressure on Premiership leaders Cherry Sutton.

It was one-way traffic for 90 minutes in this game as the Fidds totally demolished the Dray scoring nine goals.

And if it wasn't for a string of fine saves by the Dray's 'keeper, who was awarded mom, the scoreline could have been in double figures.

The Fidds, who were 3-0 up at half-time, continued where they left off in the second, bagging a further six goals.

Ste Appleton got four while Ritchie Jones, Gary Ellison, Peter Dwyer, Billy Langley and Alan Bond scored one apiece.
