Bromborough RBL 0

Runcorn Town 9

RUNCORN Town enhanced their title challenge with an emphatic victory against a shell-shocked Bromborough.

Town struggled to find their rhythm in the early stages but did find weaknessess in the home defence, resulting in Kudrcyz smashing in the opening goal after a fine individual run.

Within 10 minutes, Eddie Droughton doubled the score with a 20 yard drive after impressive approach play by Jason Maddocks.

Andy Hill was spreading some fine balls all over the pitch, and it was one such pass that enabled Keith Bolton to score Towns' third goal.

With the wind behind them in the second period, Runcorn Town took the game to Bromborough, so it was no surprise to see two more quick-fire goals coming from Droughton and Daz Moores.

Kennedy was unlucky not to get on the score sheet, his free-kick hit the crossbar but fortunately fell to Moores who knocked in number six.

Dave Butler's fine run down the left-hand side opened up Bromborough, once more his cut-back being finished by Bolton.

Droughton and Moores scored a further goal apiece to both complete hat-tricks and wrap up a convincing victory.Mom, Colin Kudrcyz.

Willaston 4

Runcorn Town Reserves 5

DARREN MAYERS scored four goals in an exciting encounter which saw the lead change four times.

Mayers scored his first after a great defence splitting pass by Jason Wiegand. Willaston then scored two goals inside five minutes, but the lead was short-lived, because Alan Butler equalised with his 20th strike this season.

Mayers then put Town in front again with a simple tap in after the Willaston goalkeeper fumbled a Watson shot.

Willaston hit back after the break, Pearson completing his hat-trick with two further strikes.

The points were won when Daz Mayers scored with a header following a Jameson corner, and a fine solo effort notching his fourth goal.

A late double save by Dale Mayers kept a gallant Willaston at bay, and Towns' Reserves victory kept them at the top of the league. Mom, Daz Mayers.
