-THE top scorers of the day were in the ICI Premier Division as Fidds destroyed Dray Athletic 9-0. Appleton led the way netting four and one apiece from Jones, Ellison, Dwyer, Langley and Bond. Leaders Cherry Sutton had goals from Davis and Clark in a 1-2 away win over bottom club FC Brewer. Old Transporter had a goal from Wheelhouse in their 1-0 home win over St Andrews. Grapes had goals from Leather, Ward and Wagg but this proved not enough, they went down 5-3 away to Hitchens.

Leaders of the ICI First Division Burma Star were held 2-2 away to Wellie, Gould and Leddon on target for the home side. Steggles and Vaughan hit back for the visitors. Castle had a brace from Friar and one from Savage as they defeated Columbas Old Boys 3-2. Stadt Moers had Ritchie Hughes as mom, but he could not stop Travellers Rest, the visitors winning 0-7.

It's getting tight in the ICI Second Division, leaders Union Tavern were held to a 3-3 draw against Fiddlers 111 which enabled second placed Golden Wonder to creep nearer after a 3-2 win over Thatto Heath Railway thanks to goals from Burton (2) and Stephens with Donoghue and Fisher replying for the visitors. Cornerhouse move into third spot after a Dunning goal gave them a 0-1 win away to Weston Point Seniors. Roosters had a double brace from Bridlow and Ripley as they defeated Halfway House 4-2.

Waterloo are runners-up in the ICI Third Division after a 2-4 away win over Hough Green, goals coming from Mathews, Moss, Powell and Mealia. Railway had two from Thornhill and one from O'Neill in their 3-2 win over Croft Supplies Reserves.

In the Bob Orme Challenge Cup replay, bottom club of the Third Division Golden Wonder Reserves defeated Todd Dynamoes 6-5 after a penalty shoot-out. The scores were all level after extra-time with Gilhooley and McHale scoring for the 'crisp men' then came the drama of penalties.
