Halfway 4

Home Farm 2

HALFWAY got back to winning ways in the league with this victory over third placed Home Farm.

It was an entertaining game played in difficult conditions and took both teams some time to come to terms with the blustery wind.

Home Farm opened the scoring with a deflected shot leaving Adam Smith no chance in goal.

The Runcorn side then rallied and were soon level when Paul Stevenson set up Mom, Steve Hooper, to score.

As the second-half got underway Halfway began to press home their win advantage and Lee Wiswall was unlucky to be adjusted offside when scoring.

It was, however, Hope Farm who got the breakthrough after the Halfway defence stood static claiming offside.

Again Halfway rallied and Andy Thompson put Paul Stevenson clear to shoot home the equalizer.

Andy Shaw then put Stevenson through again only to be upended for a penalty which Hooper despatched to put Halfway infront.

Dave Huetson then put Dave Whitfield clean through and he set up Hooper for his hat-trick and a fine win for Halfway.
