THE innovative talents of Primal Scream hit the airwaves again on Monday when they release a new single on Creation - but it will only be available for one week.

Kevin Shields, the talent behind ground-breaking My Bloody Valentine, has given a radical remix to the lead track 'If they move, kill 'em' which originally appeared on last year's highly acclaimed 'Vanishing Point' album.

Described by singer Bobby Gillespie as "very, very extreme, like heavy free jazz, very disturbed," it is almost unrecognisable from the LP version.

Track two 'Darklands' is a cover of the Jesus & Mary Chain track from the album of the same name.

There is also an extended mix of 'If they move, kill 'em' and a beguiling instrumental version of 'Darklands' called 'Badlands'.

All these extras means the single clocks in at 25 minutes so although it represents great value for money, it will not be eligible for the charts.

With an upcoming tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland, Primal Scream - who have recently recruited new drummer Darrin Mooney into their ranks - are very much back in top gear.
