AN unforgettable day is in store for Middlewich High School pupil Emma Johnson this summer.

Emma, aged 14, has been chosen as this year's Winsford Carnival Queen and she will be crowned during the annual extravaganza, which takes place on July 25.

Emma lives in Churchill Parkway and her hobbies include drama, dance and netball.

Her Lady in Waiting at the carnival will be 12-year-old Nicola Marriott, of Alamein Drive, Winsford.

Nicola attends Woodford Lodge High School and is a member of the Girl Guides. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, dancing and playing netball.

Nicola's sister, 10-year-old Gemma Marriott, will also play a starring role at the big event, having been chosen as the Carnival Princess.

Gemma is a pupil at St Chad's Primary School, as is nine-year-old Natalie Price, of Queensway, who will be this year's Carnival Rosebud.

The honour of being this year's Carnival Fairy Queen goes to seven-year-old Sarah Atherton, of Beauty Bank, Whitegate.

Sarah is a pupil at Whitegate Primary School and she enjoys dancing.

The other youngsters who have been chosen to play a part in this year's carnival are:

Maids of Honour: Michelle Shepherd, Toni Ann Barlow and Amelia Beresford; Court Ladies: Lucy Lambert, Charlotte Booth, Anne-Marie Ratcliffe and Amy Gliddon.

Flower Girls: Laura Lambert, Jennifer Sugarman and Laura Hadaway; Trainbearers: Sarah Hough, Kimberley Brandreth, Natasha Shepherd and Leanne Marriott; Fairies: Jade Dutton, Lauren Bailey, Layla Beresford, Rebecca Lambert, Jordon Barlow, Alana Dale and Emily Croxton; Crown Bearer: Damon Hamilton; Sceptre Bearer: Aaron Hughes.
