HARD-WORKING trainees from Winsford and Middlewich have been celebrating their success in achieving National Vocational Qualifications.

Members of the group were congratulated by Clr John Beech, the Mayor of Vale Royal, who presented them with certificates and cheques at a presentation ceremony in Winsford on Friday.

The Winsford and Middlewich trainees who earned their NVQs are Kerry Holbrook, Natalie Clarke (Administration level 2), Gary Kelsall, Danny Hancox, Mark Grice (Painting and Decorating level 1), Amanda Whittaker, Ann Trainer (Painting and Decorating level 2), Tim Holt (Bricklaying level 1 and Numberpower) and Wayne Van Rensburg (Vehicle Maintenance and Electronic Systems level 3).

Clr Beech also made presentations to trainees who have completed Wordpower and Numberpower foundation courses, and to Social Care and Child Care and Education trainees who have earned the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

In addition, Vocational Assessors Awards were presented to Sue Stoneley, Karen Leather, Sandy Gill, Carol Brocklehurst and Peter Brocklehurst.

Training places are available at the two Winsford training centres run by the borough council, at Dene Drive and Bostock Road.

All the programmes offer potential employment and a bonus of up to £520 on completion.
