MORE than £6,000 has been handed out by council chiefs to help in the preservation of historic buildings throughout Vale Royal.
The handouts have been approved by the borough council's planning committee through its historic buildings grants scheme.
Among the buildings to be awarded grants are St Stephen the Martyr Church in Moulton and St Helen's Church in Tarporley.
The committee also awarded a grant towards the repair of the Vale Royal upper sluice on the River Weaver.
