The schoolgirl, who once starred as the Queen of Hearts in the procession, will be crowned on May 2.
Nerves set in 30 minutes before last week's choosing, said mum Lynne.
But the Knutsford High School pupil took some sound advice.
"I was told to smile a lot - so I did," she said.
The Frost family moved to Knutsford six years ago from County Durham.
Two weeks later, Laura had taken part in her first Royal May Day procession.
"I never dreamed that one day my daughter would become May Queen," said Mrs Frost, who - when she lived in Manchester - visited Knutsford every year to watch the procession
